Chemical Grouting in Florida Sinkhole Repair

High density polyurethane expandable grout is installed under low pressure to fill voids immediately beneath foundations and/or concrete slabs. This gently raises the foundation upward in a controlled and precise method.

Basis of Polymer (Chemical Grout)Rigid polyurethane is a thermo set produced from the reaction of poly metric MDI and a poly-functional alcohol.  Thermo set polymers are those that change irreversibly during the reaction into a polymer that is infusible and insoluble through the reaction into a cross linked, thermally stable network.

Ridgid polyurethane foams are resistant to oils, gasoline, and most solvents. Polyurethanes are widely used in the construction industry for such purposes as insulation pipe for use below ground, in-situ barrier in ditches to prevent erosion and other uses where the materials may be buried.

Installation of Casing The casing is installed with a Hammered method. The casing is advanced to a standard depth of ten feet. The casing can reach depths of thirty feet beneath foundations, roadways, and around utilities.

Chemical Grouting Injection Method Polymer is injected through small holes. Upon injection, the polymer immediately expands. Voids are quickly filled and the chemical expansion gently raises the foundation upward. Laser levels monitor the foundation movement. It is possible to either lift the flooring or to restrict the operation to consolidation of the sub-base only. The degree of lift is a controlled and precise operation.
